2009 has come and gone

It has been quite a year. Bobby got out of the Army and has come to Colorado to start college. He has moved home to save money....got a job until school starts.....and the whole family is enjoying him back home. Meleah and Bobby are just loving being back in the same town. It has been almost 15 years since the two of them have got to enjoy being so close to one another! And as for Sharon and me....well....having them both now living in Loveland has been a joy and comfort after these past 6 and some years of Bobby being gone in the Army. He is enjoying his role as uncle and doing a fine job at endearing Kyle and Felicia to his kidding and loving.

I spent quite some time at the Farm this year trying to meet my commitments on clearing lots of trees from the pasture....and I was able to finish some 65 acres with the help of Brent Waters who donated his time and expertise in the endeavor. What a great friend. Carl has been there the whole way as well, keeping me entertained and working on the Deer Blinds so we could all enjoy the hunt this year. Carl at 73 years old is now an official bow hunter as he shot his deer with the bow he received for his birthday. April we have a turkey hunt going and we are looking forward to that!

Of course Chip has been out at the farm several times to enclude the deer hunt where he also got his first deer with a bow! We gave deer meat to Virginia like we do every year cause she loves it as we do! I am stocking up venison for my "deer chilli" which we will enjoy this next year. We have a chilli cook off on New Year's Eve that will put family and friends chilli up agains eachother. Prizes will be awarded! We are looking forward to the fun....and will separate before the chilli takes full effect!

Sharon and I are already planning for the summer motorcycle ride which will take us out to California and Highway 1. She is raring to go as she has missed several rides that have been quite successful for the rest of us! She told me she is making this ride for sure! We plan to meet Heidi and Joe probably in Reno. By the time the ride happens...who knows who will jump in on the fun!

Sharon and I have been married now over 5 years. We are still enjoying our travels and time together. Retired and being together just about 24/7 makes the 5 years seem like we have always been together! And I mean that in a good way! We are blessed to be able to share our lives at this time in our lives. I remember Rober Waterman telling me that having your life patner to share the last 30 years of your life is probably the most important and I think he is right. We are having the time of our lives when we are able to enjoy it the most!

I have not been on my blog for quite some time and thought I would post an update and maybe in a small way.....count my many blessings. Mom and Dad are still kicking and having them here close by is such a blessing. Dad is still doing his thing and working with the government boys on secret stuff and Mom holds down the fort as she always has taking care of the yard and work around the house. It brings joy to my heart every time I see her. Jeanne and Wenda are busy as ever making a living and running their families. Nancy is just about at retirement and starting to think about what happens next! All in all....we are all surviving .... maybe poorer in cash but richer in life and memories.

Love to all.
